WCC Centenary Snooker Post #5

So, following on with more Black & White nostalgia - don't worry youngsters, there will be colour pictures, Stats & Tables in due course.

Wholly appropriate for our Centenary Year & forthcoming Pro Exhibition, here we remember bygone days of Wallingford Comrades Club hosting regular Professional Snooker Players Exhibitions with a picture of a very young Rex Williams (2nd from left in white shirt & black waistcoat) by Table 1 - please note the 'Old School' Score Board.  Gordon Izzard of Fawley has recently purchased one of these antiques at a princely sum!

Rex Williams was a Professional Snooker Player from 1951-1997 when he did as most retired pros do, became a commentator.  He also won the World Professional Billiards Championship seven times from 1968 to 1983, including a reign as champion from 1968 to 1980.

From L to R, Ron Brewer, Rex Williams, (sorry, I don't know the man standing in front of the post - anyone else know?) & William 'Bill' Billingham.

Again, feel free to message me with any contributions of your own which you may have (photographs, newspaper cuttings, etc.) & I'll add them to the feeds.
