A Team draw Crown Tech away in 1st round of Jim Taylor Cup & win 0-5. Captain starts v Andy Simlock & wins 1-76. Tom plays Paul Claydon & tries for one better (a whitewash), which looked on the cards until Paul takes the last red & black for an 8-79 win. Phil has to work v Steve Digby, but cues smooth for a 9-42 win. Hawks knocks in breaks for fun, making a 30 & 27 (should've been more, but we'll gloss over that red!) in a 17-63 win v Andy Harper. Dave gets drawn as Anchorman (honest, we DREW it that way!) & pots sublimely & needed to as Mark Rowland makes him work for a 32-62 win. Err... Cuz...? How long is your holiday?

B Team host Kennington in the 1st round of the Jim Taylor & win 4-1. Rob starts (as he had 2 other matches to play the same night!) & wins (all of them!) v Syd Ponting 67-27. Andy has a close one v Paul Andrews, but closes it out, 60-53. Dave makes light work of Alan Richards, winning 82-21. Craig gets his maiden win (whoop, whoop!) & it's another close frame v his Bar Billiards mate, Mark Trafford 59-53 (must've been the nice new tip, eh mate?). With safe progression assured, Brian lets Rob have another go at the top of the table as he loses narrowly, 32-41 v Martin Clements.

'The Shark' Glaves makes a 25 break (which should've been more according to KP) in his 66-12 win v J. Gunning. Alan suffers a defeat v John Vaughan Junior, 39-59. Captain Pickworth plays a Captains innings & secures progression to the next round with a 60-25 win v J. Smith for 3-1. Jon Fanstone makes doubly sure with a 57-10 rout v A. Alldridge. Now, Competition Secretary, try not to draw any all Wallingford ties in round 2 please! ;)
