C Team travel to Harwell RBL to face Div. 2 Champions, RAF Benson in the Presidents Cup Final & what a match to finish their season! Alan gives them the perfect start with a solid match-play performance to beat Rob Hart, 61-15. RAF Benson then fight back with Andy Pickford beating Hugh Baker, 27-56 to level, 1-1. Frame 3 sees a 'Battle of the Captains', Kev Pickworth having a close frame v Simon Perkins, which Si edges, 32-43. 1-2 down & Adam faces Bryan Kettle to keep their Cup hopes alive! Adam builds on an early lead & plays well to win, 48-30 for 2-2. Jon faces Sam 'Bez' Beasant, drafted in at the 11th hour for RAF Benson. Jon (still in his debut season I remind you!) slots in some lovely pots & plays great tactical, percentage match-play, not giving Sam so much as a sniff! Jon leads throughout & seals the win when Sam pots the final red & fails to take black, being 35 behind. Despite desperate efforts, it's a matter of time before Sam concedes, 58-10. A fabulous win for the C Team & no less than they deserve after a concerted push in the 2nd half of the League season & during (as someone accurately summarised), an 'interesting' season! Well done Captain KP & the whole of the C Team squad - PRESIDENTS CUP WINNERS!
