A Team draw Marlborough A in their Semi Final of the Jim Taylor Cup & win 5-0. Phil is drawn to start v Craig Harper who starts really well, potting his way to a 0-39 lead. Cue sublime break-building from 'World Champ' who promptly knocks in a 57 break (would've been a clearance if he hadn't rattled the black) for his second sizeable break in as many weeks! Bakes faces Laurence Harvey & it's nip & tuck throughout. Bakes, fresh from his qualification for the Billiards Final, struggles with the heavy, slow table & it ends up with a re-spotted black for extra drama. Bakes seals it for 2-0 & to set Cuz up nicely for his second 'destiny moment' in as many weeks. Cuz faces Lee Dickson who starts well, potting & scoring. Cuz tightens it up & takes it to another re-spotted black, which Cuz duly 'doubles' to put the A's in the Final! Tom faces Matty Burton in the first 'dead rubber' & is in no mood for prisoners, recording a completely one-sided score-line of 88-0 with a lovely 37 break (leaving him just 7 points shy of the Golden 1,000!). Rowey plays Steve Wetherall & again, it's a one-sided score-line with Dave winning, 64-15. Well done A's, only 2 months to wait for the Final!

C Team draw Oracle in the other Jim Taylor Cup Semi Final & sadly go down 0-5. Mark faces Stuart 'Fen-lash' Fenwick & battles well, but as the whole team find, face a stern test v the Premier Division Runners Up. Stu wins, 20-57. Baz is drawn v the Pool World Champ, Ben Rowland & despite spirited effort, loses, 10-73. Cap C, Adam plays Frankie Merola & gives it his all to keep the C's in the match with a close frame, losing on the colours, 43-56. Alan, back from sunnier climes faces Oracle captain, Rich 'Peanut' Saunders & again, like his Captain, takes it to the colours, losing the first 'dead rubber', 35-48. Hugh gets his 'wish' & plays Ollie Hoeblyn who runs out winner, 1-78. Good experience & a nice warm-up for the Chairmans Cup Semi Finals next week - they won't be as tough as tonight lads.
