A Team start 2016 with a fantastic 1-4 away win at Abingdon RBL! Tom starts v Ben Rowland & although it's a little scrappy after the 2 week Xmas break, Tom capitalises on Ben's missed chances & wins 45-53. Phil, complete with mended cue (again!) plays a patient tactical frame, slotting in some lovely pots for a 30-61 win v Mark Reynolds. Jon faces his old ex-Wantage team-mate, Ian Barnes & again plays solid match play to eek out his chances & clears with a 34 to win, 28-94. Captain 'takes one for the team' as he fights v Karl Walker but a rattled red costs him as does the subsequent snooker with 5 reds open, losing on the brown, 60-29. It's the Battle of the Daves as Anchorman faces his old adversary, Dave Lewis & after carving out a healthy lead, Dave Lewis fights back only to see Anchorman slot in a sublime blue/position on pink to seal the win. With Challow 'doing us a favour' & beating Abingdon RBL 3-2, not a bad night to celebrate the start of 2016 & Hawkinators 44th!

C Team start 2016 with a visit to Harwell RBL A & lose 3-2. Jon starts v the experienced Graham Davies & continues his cracking debut season with a 26-46 win. Alan follows suit & has a close fought frame v P Warrington, winning 24-36 for a 0-2 lead! Hugh faces Kev Calkin who starts about the home team fight back & wins, 56-21 to pull a frame back for the home team. Adam plays their Captain John Vaughan Senior who levels the match, 2-2 with a 45-23 win. In the decider its the 2 respective Division 2 'Sharks', Simon Saunders v Dave & sadly it's Dave who comes off second best with a 71-21 loss. From the jaws of victory...
