It ends up being decided on the black & Aaron takes it, 58-66. Ole Gunnar Woods steps in at the last minute for Tom & plays a solid match-play frame to beat Nigel Archer, 62-37. Captain misses too many v Duncan Price & loses 27-76. Paul Archer hardly misses a ball v Cuz & wins 21-61. Dave faces Doug Young in the final frame & pots well & plays good safety for a 60-28 win. Essential damage limitation at the half-way stage with a League BYE after John Evans Cup next week - home v Challow A!

B Team travel to Abingdon Con A & win 2-3! Simon starts v Colin Bark & it's a convincing win for the home player, 75-20. Craig puts up a good fight v Dave Lewis & it's close, but Dave wins, 56-34. 2-0 down & the cavalry arrives, first in the form of Rob who has an all important but close win v Ian Barnes, 45-56. Andy makes short work of a convincing win v Dave Lugger, 19-55. The deciding frame sees Dave Rowe face Richard Belcher & Dave runs away with it, 9-72. Great away win B Team, take next week off ('seeded through' the JE Prelims!).

Jon has the aggregate high scoring frame of the match with a 69-76 v Si Perkins. Alan burns the midnight oil (well, 11.30 to be precise) with a 42-49 v Chris Davies. Unlucky lads, but they look Champions elect already! Only gotta play 'em twice more!
