In the Semi Finals of the Jim Taylor Cup, the draw pairs the A Team v the B Team at Wantage Comrades. Cuz starts v Andy & they have a nip & tuck frame where Andy potted some lovely balls & Cuz has to fight all the way. After a fabulous blue by Andy, he leaves a long pink, which Cuz duly sinks & takes the black for a 53-51 win. Jon faces Dave Rowe in frame 2 & again it's a close run thing with both players in & out of clean potting form, but both playing good tactical match-play. After Dave has the rub potting the green, he has none when he subsequently snookers himself on the brown! I'm sure Jon whispered 'Karma' before he slams in brown & then blue & a few shots later the pink for frame, 57-45 for a 2-0 lead...

...Frame 3 see's Tom face Craig who plays in his first ever semi final (& didn't he look smart!). There's no charity from Tom though as he sets about his task with a lovely 37 break (how did you miss that pink?!) in a 76-2 score-line to put the A Team in the Final v Abingdon RBL at Fawley next week. In the 'dead' rubbers, Rob beats Dave with a cracking 22 clearance to clear the 'Golden' 1,000 points for the season. Pete plays Brian & knocks in a 25 in his win (sorry Brian, but the Archers were watching & Cuz & me play them tomorrow in the Doubles Final!).

No more matches for the C Team this season, but I think it only right that a special mention is given for Hugh Baker & Alan Wells. They made it through to the semi finals of BOTH Pairs Comps & Alan also came Runner Up to Dave Greathead in the Over 50s Final! Sterling effort gents, well played! Obviously a good pairing & even their match stats are so similar!
