In the John Evans Semi Finals the A Team draw Abingdon Con A at Harwell RBL & it's a battle royal! Jon starts v Karl Walker & goes toe-to-toe with 20 breaks apiece before Jon's superior tactical play decides the opener, 73-40! Get in! What a treat for Jon's son Latham to watch! Captain goes on next v Colin Bark & knocks in a 21 in a 68-33 win for 2-0 up! Nigel plays Paul Chester & it's a real see-saw frame with Paul taking the lead, Nigel coming back & getting his nose in front before Paul pots fabulously on the colours to win 59-69. Good effort VC! Cuz then faces Dave Lewis & being fancied by all his team mates to close the match out, comes up against an in-form & potting Ab. Con A Captain who wins, 27-69. It's down to Anchorman v Ollie Hoeblyn in the decider & Dave also goes toe-to-toe after Ollie knocks in a 21, Dave responds with a 24! Albeit for an Ollie fluked snooker on the brown when DG the clips the blue, it was a shame to be decided like that. Ollie seals it 43-77 for a creditable 2-3 fight back win. Bloody good match & we certainly gave their best side a thorough work-out!
