A Team play their re-scheduled John Evans Cup preliminary round at home to Challow RBL A & lose 2-3. Cuz is drawn 1st v Adam Bruce & it's a close frame throughout, ending with a black ball frame, which Cuz scrapes home a winner, 38-35. Jon winces his way through a convincing win with a trapped nerve in his back (we felt every shot mate!) v Ian Bowman, 53-17 to put A Team 2-0 up. Tom faces Phil Hall in the 3rd & it's a carbon copy of his Challow away frame last week with Phil racing to a lead, only for Tom to peg him back with a lovely 32 break. Phil seals it on the colours with a 40-62 win. Captain faces Dave Williams & in similar fashion to Tom, has to fight back with a 23, but a double kiss on the black sets Dave up for the win, 44-51. Anchorman faces Matt Dixey in the decider & races to a comfortable lead, only to see the tide turn on the colours when a swerve round the blue to pot the brown ends with both cue ball & brown going in! Matt seals the win on the black (3 black ball frames!), 44-57. I blame too many mince pies!

C Team travel to Fawley to play a re-arranged League fixture & sadly only field 4 players (from the biggest squad in the Club?!). Kev faces Neil Winney in the opener & Neil runs out winner by 64-14. Adam Beardsley plays Fawley Captain Simon Mulford & scraps & scores well for a black ball win, 53-58! Jon then puts the C's in the lead with another win, 34-54 v J Barrett! Great fighting spirit lads! Neil Murphy knocks in a 32 break in a 49-31 win over Alan & Gordon Izzard claims the W/O in the decider for a 3-2 win for Fawley.
