Season starts with the annual A v B derby & Jon (Mr Century) kicks it off with a dogged frame v Simon. Jon plays trademark safety to ease a 57-23 win. Captain plays Brian & knocks in a 23 for a 66-18 win. Kev plays Dave in a re-match of the GSMS Final & Cuz plays solid (& gets some 'run' - new season, new rules, new luck?) for a 50-26 win to seal the overall (A Team haven't done that for a couple of years!)...

…but Tom starts with purpose & knocks in a lovely 34 (Highest in the League in Week 1!) v Andy who then plays safety to keep in with a shout. It's all going well with 1 snooker gained & 1 more required until he goes in-off the brown & loses, 92-41. Rob salvages some pride for the B with a 36-44 win in the last frame. Never mind B, some team(?) have lost their 1st match & gone on to win the League!

C Team start at home v Didcot Con. Joey makes his welcome return but comes off 2nd best v Bob Higginson, 29-60. Alan gets closer to Lee Hughes, but also loses, 37-60. Hugh wanted 1 more pot on the colours v experienced Phil Organ, losing 41-51. Step up debutant Jon Fanstone to stop the rot & he rattles in a brace of 15s winning 57-15 v John Sheppard! Adam has a less than perfect start v Wayne Evans, 11-50.
