D&DS&BL Week 4 result
Wallingford B Team snapped out of their hat trick of 2-3 losses with a superb 4-1 win at home to Fairmile! Te fixture opened with a return to League Snooker for the Comrades Club Chairman Bob Elliott who dusted off his cue to open the match & was drawn against Phil Collins! Bit of a harsh 'welcome back' for Bob as Phil made a 45 break in Fairmile's only winning frame by a score of 79-16. The B Team rallied & Pete Beaumont comprehensively beat Aaron Tame by 66-27 in the second frame. Brian Orton then beat Dennis Finnon by 48-15 before Rob House secured the win by beating Stuart Foley by 59-35. Stand-in Captain Andy Rance then secured the last point by winning 73-22 against Kev Parsons which included a nice 27 break (much to the disappointment of Pete Beaumont who held the highest break in the B Team to that point!). A great result which elevates the B Team to second the the 1st Division & 4th in the combined Premier & 1st!

Didcot & District Snooker League Results Week 3
Wallingford B Team record a 3rd successive 2-3(!), this time away at Crown Technology. Pete Beaumont lost the opening frame 30-54 v Olly Walker, but Dave Glaves levelled the frames with a 53-32 win over Andy Harper. Brian Orton lost the 3rd frame 48-61 v Trevor Russell, but Rob House then edged a very close 4th frame 43-40 v Paul Claydon to level the match 2-2! In the final & deciding frame Andy Rance lost 33-55 to Nigel Coppendale. Unlucky lads! Obviously missing Captain Kev! ;)

Wallingford A lost away to current league leaders 1-4. Not a good night at the table! Olly Hoeblyn beat Pete Billingham by 67-27, Simon James (formerly of Marlborough A) beat Nigel Prior on a black ball game 48-44, Nigel Barker beat Tom Williams 84-20 before Kev Higgs salvaged some pride for Wallingford by beating Dave Lewis 46-39. Anchorman Dave Greathead was up against it when Jamie Saczak slotted in a nice 31 break in a 62-17 win. The A Team now start a 2 week break with back-to-back BYES before returning to league competition at home to Wantage A on 10th October.
Wallingford B lost 2-3 at home to Marlborough B for their 2nd 2-3 of the season (let's not start that again!). Dave Glaves beat Martin Harvey 48-28, Kevin Pickworth lost to Lawrence Harvey 38-46 on a pink ball frame. Rob House lost 45-57 on a black ball before ANOTHER black ball loss for Brian to T Fisher. Andy Rance salvaged the last frame of the night in convincing fashion 49-4 against Steve Wetherall. Next match for Wallingford B Team is away v Crown Technology on 26th September.
