Players Player of the Year!

 

There have been some great performances in the Club & League by individuals, pairs & teams again this year & I'm sure you can all think of good examples!

 

In the same format as last year, the decision is yours!

 

Please use the voting forms on the Snooker Notice Board to cast your all important vote for your team/club mate that you feel is most worthy of receiving the prestigious Tanner Trophy!

 

Consideration should be given to Individual Performances, whether that is;

·                  Commitment to the game,

·                  New-comers achievements,

·                  Consistent performance,

·                  Seasoned 'veterans' performances,

·                  Contribution as part of a team.

More success & another 'Honourable Mention'!

Following on from last weeks Honourable Mention on this blog for Kev 'Cuz' Higgs & his Oxford League Doubles Title, our very own Tom Hamilton-Williams enjoyed MORE cue success on Thursday night in the Oxford Pool League Premier Division!

After being part of the D&DS&BL Premiership Title winning Wallingford Comrades A Team squad on Wednesday, Tom followed this up on Thursday evening when playing from Rileys in Oxford as part of the Rileys AllStars Team, they secured the Pool Premier League Title!

Congratulations on another trophy mate! What a fantastic season you're having, D&DS&BL Billiards Champion plus these 2 Team Championships! (I'm sure Clare will be over the moon with ANOTHER trophy to polish! LOL!).

A TEAM WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE! They travel to Abingdon RBL & win 4-1, winning the Division with a week to spare! Captain starts & beats Harvey Pearce, 59-21. Aaron plays Paul Archer & wins 59-36. Tom beats Nigel Archer, 52-25. Nigel wins, 60-39 v Doug Young before Dave battles v Aaron Downey (who clears with a sublime 54!) but loses, 34-74. You boys have responded so well since our 1st match & taken a very impressive 56 points out of a possible 70! Well done A Team! Proud to be your Captain!

Dave (newly crowned D&DS&BL Novice Champion!) then has an early concession v Martin Harvey who gives up with the scores 38-1 with 4 reds left! Brian edges a close frame v T Fisher 52-43, but Rob beats Tony Rushton convincingly 50-14. Andy wins the final frame 59-22 v Matty Burton. Last match next week is away v Challow C (who need 2 points to secure the 1st Division!).

Pete Beaumont knocks in a 20 break, but even that's not enough as Mike Bishop edges it 54-64. Alan Wells also has a close frame but loses out to Lee Wood 47-54. Captain Kev battles v S Ponting but loses 48-66. Some close frames & looks like you gave them a match... but they are the Champions elect!
